What's on the truck
A 1-ton package that works for a living: lighting instruments and control, c-stands and combos, flags, frames, diffusion and rags, clamps and grip hardware, apple boxes, sandbags, distro and stingers. Racked the same way on every job, so nothing hides on the truck and nothing gets found broken at call time.
The truck comes with the person who maintains it
A rental cage hands you a truck, a checklist, and a counter phone number. This truck arrives with the gaffer who packed it: he knows what every fixture does, where every clamp lives, and which stinger was replaced last month, because he replaced it. When the light has to move fast, that difference is the whole day.

The gear does not leave without its operator. That's not a restriction, it's the product: you're not renting a truck, you're booking a gaffer who happens to bring a fully maintained 1-ton package with him.
